Ball Topped Tower on Southport Pier - Southport Pier Sculptural element with integrated Seating and Orientation Lighting At 1000 metres in length, Southport Pier is the second longest in the U.K. Following recent renovation of this Grade two listed structure, a tram service has been installed alongside the pedestrian decks. To complete the work Sefton Special Projects commissioned a structural element to stand at the seaward hammerhead of the pier. Themed around wind and water the sculpture provides seating/photo opportunities for visitors and lighting for evening orientation.
