Description
Ancient partially collapsed stone clapper bridge over the River Dart at Bellever near Postbridge on Dartmoor. A clapper bridge is an ancient form of bridge found on the moors of the English West Country (Bodmin Moor, Dartmoor and Exmoor) and in other upland areas of the United Kingdom where large slabs of stone are used to span the river either in its entirety or with the use of intermediate pillars.
