Description
The Pimple on Whitchurch Down above avistock, Devon is a reservoir entrance. Built in 1914, by Sir Edwin Lutyens, for the Duke of Bedford. Built of Hurdwick stone Delabole slate with a tetrahedral roof, the building is triangular in plan with an entrance door on one side. This little building was built over the entrance on top of a reservoir on Whitchurch Down, which served Bedford estate houses and a house called Littlecourt.
