Art From Industry

Art can be created in unlikely places, this is demonstrated in the new industrial Heritage gallery recently created by Helen Northcott.

This continually expanding body of work comprises abstract pieces created from a rusting steam train boilers and machine building waste found in a skip, and detailed close up images such as lifting eye and the contrast of rusty metal and rivets.

The images featured capture the essential elements of British and American motoring heritage from the 1950's and 1960's from the over-the-top space inspired chrome fins of classic Cadillacs to the subtle curves of British sports tourers from Jaguar, to create stunning pieces of art to decorate every petrol-head's home or office.

The gallery titled simply France contains images taken on her travels by bike around the northern French region of Brittany and contains an eclectic mix of abstracts, everyday observations and interesting details.
